6:48 pm - Yarn and "stuff"

I ordered the above two yarns from ebay...300 grams of each cost me mere pennies, can't wait for it to arrive.

I'm almost done with both the vest and the scarf..will post pictures when both are done.

Looking forward to Thanksgiving...after which I shall have NO time for a personal life, knitting, eating, sleeping...LOL

6:32 pm - I found more of that yarn!
See my previous post and photo. I found this yarn on Ebay and got 4 more skeins. I'm going to make a scarf and felted hat for myself!!!! YAY!

On my way home from work today I stopped at Kohl's....every year I get a $10.00 gift card in the mail from them, that can be used on ANYTHING. So today I found this fantastic pillar candle with a lovely candle ring..it's HUGE..it was $19.99 and was marked down 50% so I used my card and it was free! It's a gift for a family member. A lovely centerpiece!

4:51 am - OH this is fun!
I just started this diagonal or multi directional scarf. What fun! I'm using 127 Print yarn from Filatura Di Crossa. Sadly this yarn has been discontinued...I'd love to find more of it!

3:58 pm - Scarf and vest progress
Well I got one scarf finished. I think I like it!

Front of tabard vest is done, now I'm working down the back. It's made in one very unusual piece and it buttons on the sides and the front tab.

Here's the buttons I selected for the vest. The larger ones are used for the sides and the smaller ones for the front tab.

I'm reserving judgment on this vest till it's completely done.

4:38 pm - Shopping with the "girls".
Today my gal pals and I headed "south" for a day of shopping down near Denver! First stop: the YARN SHOP...of course!

Yarns for scarves and socks galore!

Then we headed over to Colorado Mills Mall in Golden, CO. First stop in the mall...California Pizza Kitchen for a bite to eat...fortification for dogged shopping determination!

Next stop..the Eddie Bauer Outlet store. As Bev and Liz lingered in the front of the shop...I wandered to the huge back area where the REAL bargains are!

1. Blue sueded mock turtle neck (fitted) for me...70% off!
2. Cotton/wool socks for a relative for Christmas...oh so so soft
3. Black mock turtleneck for a relative....50% off
4. Snowflake Jammie bottoms for me..full price but they are sooooo cute and cuddly!

We finished our shopping adventure with a stroll around the candy shop. Boston Baked Beans, non pariels and M&M's!

Great day, great weather, great fun, great friends, great finds. Couldn't ask for more!

7:18 pm - Bolero done...vest started!
I'm so thrilled with this item! It's a NY Yarn's pattern and NY Yarn's "Rocky" yarn. A really easy pattern that was fun to make!

Now I'm starting this vest.
I'm making it out of this dreamy alpaca...should look great with my dusty rose jeans and a white blouse!

7:42 pm - Time on my hands and Christmas Decorations!
Seeing as I have a bunch of time on my hands, thought I'd post some pictures of my progress on getting decorations up:

This is an "Oldie but a "goodie", my old friend Penny made this for me over 20 years ago...I still love it!

Archway Bow, so my genuine Australian Boomerang, that normally hangs here, will get a rest for a couple months!

My candle grouping...oh they smell lovely!

My front door wreath!

My itsy, bitsy tree..and the "Mooseses"...still have more decorations to put on tree...and more Mooseses to add!

10:14 am - Projects! Some shopping too!
The very "unusual" Tunic is almost done. Just need to slip stitch some edges and work in some ends. I think I really like this. With a pair of jeans and a turtleneck, I think it will look great!

The body pieces of my Bolero are done and blocking, now working on the cable band. This is a great pattern and a great yarn too. New York Yarns "Rocky" thick and thin yarn and the pattern came from NY Yarns also.

New flannel Jammies....ahhhhh

6:07 pm - OH NO! There's a Mouse in my Yarn!

Ha Ha, fooled ya! It's just my new USB Hub on my "yarn" mousepad!

On a more serious note, I found a better way to do multiple row bind off's so you don't get that "jagged" edge on armholes, necks, shoulders!

Stopped on the way home from work picked up stuff to make a pizza tomorrow and some badly needed new PJ's. Got home and stuffed some old PJ's in my trash can!

I'm donating a pair of Leg Warmers to our United Way auction at work. The gal in charge of the auction is just thrilled. I ended up with an extra pair so it's really not a big deal. Shhhhhhhhh don't tell her that!

3:11 pm - New Project, new head!
While my tunic is blocking, I've started a new project. Not much to look at yet.

The latest edition to my "glass head" collection arrived a little while ago. This one is an antique Milk Glass! Now I have Blue, Green, Black and White. I'd love to find a red one!

8:41 am - Odd tunic is almost done!
I found this unusual tunic pattern some time ago. Started it about a year ago, however for several reasons it got set aside.

Finished the knitting part today, it's now in blocking "mode". Hopefully tomorrow I'll be able to seam it. Should look good with jeans and a turtleneck!

8:05 pm - Great Day!
Today my pals and I drove up to a fiber festival in Nebraska.

These are the bluff's in the backround. Up close they are really magnificent.

We visited Brown Sheep Yarn.

We toured the Mill inside this building...very interesting tour.

Then we hit the mill shop. Bev is in the middle picture with the red sweatshirt, selecting yarns.

This is all the stuff I purchased 1. some great sock yarns 2. some worsted's to make a scarf and hat from 3. some roving to spin into yarn 4. this really cute little bowl.

On our way out of town we found a little creamery to have ice cream at. About an hour later we stopped for "real food". The drive home was lovely, lots of Antelope, the wind farms...just a great day!

7:34 pm - I'm so excited!
I'm excited for many reasons too! I collect glass heads to display my hats on. Recently I finally got my hands on a black one...but now I've managed to snag an Antique Milk Glass one! The area of the head where the "hair" should be is Hobnail textured. I'm really looking forward to it arriving! It was shipped Monday.

Saturday a group of us are going to the Scott's Bluff first annual fiber festival. We are all looking forward to this. Liz found out that Brown Sheep yarn (just down the road) will be open and they will be giving tours if you sign up at the fiber festival! Woo Hoo, we've both wanted to tour the mill! We also have very explicit directions for an nearby Ice Cream place...a creamery actually! Soooo, I'm going to take my cooler (can buy ice on the road) if we find the stuff is "sinful".

I'm off on both Monday and Tuesday (oh oh a 4 day weekend), so Liz and I hope to get together and get our jar soup mixes and cookie mixes made up! Other than a few "odds n' ends"...I will be done with Christmas Gifts when these jars are done!

Got three WIP's going, a tunic for me, a sweater for Sofia and a pair of leg warmers for my grand niece!
